I got a new Sling!!

So, check out the latest sling bag I got from oasap. Its spacious and really quite impressive even though I didn't expect it to turn out so good. Yes, there is a small problem with the bag but otherwise, as per the thrift things oasap has, its quite decent.

Pros

- spacious bag

- looks really decent and would suit any western wear!!

Cons

- the handle string of the bag is not symmetrically stitched. (you can see in the pic above)

Jabong is one of the online sites which had become really popular during the debacle of the much talked about "Glossy Box". And, the website has been under a lot of spotlight since then. One of my acquaintances was talking about ordering from this site and being given a good service which made me curious to try it out. So, lets talk about it.

The navigation of the site is pretty much like any other. Earlier, their focus had been on beauty products but lately, they have moved the focus to apparels and accessories with a lot of notable brands. The payment options are endless and they do promise good service. They do have discounts going on right now. 

Anyways, check out what I bought from them. To give them credit, I received my order in just one day which has not happened with any other site as far as I can recall right away. So, that's a good service. And, the packaging was good for a scarf. As it can't be broken or is not delicate, it comes in a pouch packaging with bubble wrapping. It also had price and brand tag attached.

Craftsvilla has been around for a long time now but they have changed their look in between and its has been long since that too to be frank. They have amazing collection of crafts and accessories, especially earrings!!! So, don't forget to check them out.

The navigation is simple and similar to other websites and the checkout process is smooth. I didn't need to contact the customer service so no idea about that. Although, a point to mention is that some (or may be all) of the products are sent from manufacturers so your products may reach you at different times which is pain sometimes!!!

My order included a bottle of thyme herb and a Jasmine Ittar. Thyme is amazing for hair growth. And, I got a keychain as a complimentary gift. Both of the products were so securely wrapped up in a bubble wrap that it became a pain to remove the wraps!! Seriously!! So, you can be sure that your products will reach you safely :) Oh btw, the delivery charges are applicable only on certain products so depends on what you order and only some products have COD option so that can be disappointing for some. Cons

- It photographs much better than it looks (not exactly a con but you get carried away when doing online shopping)

- The flap which is supposed to go on the magnet closing the wallet is a little dirty which is absolutely disheartening.
- And, finally, I do think 30$ is pretty much for a wallet, especially, when parts of it are a little dirty (even if it can be washed off)!!!

They have amazing bags, belts, footwear, scarfs, everything!! And, I am not even speaking about the clothes which are just simply gorgeous except some of the things which you can't wear easily in India :)

- the bow on one of my flipflops came off!!! I would have liked it stitched instead of pasted with some quickfix or something.

- the flipflops are not exactly soft. I like soft footwear. 

- they are not flat even though they are mentioned under flats. They have an inch of heel, platform style. I like entirely flat footwear.

For me, I would say online shopping is far more easier but it doesn't really fulfill the need for a shopping therapy if you are looking out to destress yourself.

Pro's of Online Shopping

Easier, convenient, at the click of a finger, you really don't have to exert yourself, no need to carry the large shopping bags all the way to the car or your home, everything delivered on the door step just wrapped nicely giving a feeling of a gift, exciting to wait for 1-2 days for the delivery, secure enough now a days with the option of COD, no need to go to a shop when you feel damn lazy and you run out of a thing which you badly need for a party tonight (ok, may be it's not that quick yet)!!! 

Let us talk about the Con's 

I like the feel of seeing and holding the thing and deciding whether to buy it or not. This is not possible in the virtual shopping. And, consequently, it might be a little disappointing at times. Also, I can carry my goodies in the physical shopping immediately and enjoy them. You have gotta wait in the online shopping option. And, sometimes, the manufacturing of the product might have been too old for your liking. And, physical shopping is definitely funner when you have friends and family with you.

First of all, I would definitely say that I am very glad to have such a website which promotes natural and organic products. And, these are not only beauty products but you can also find foods, snacks, spices, clothes and a special column is devoted entirely to baby products. And, they also have natural hair colors from Vegetal which has definitely intrigued me. Do check out their website here and facebook fan page here. About the Site and Services

It is easy and simple so no worries out there. But, there is one thing that the offers on the site are not displayed or advertised properly. For example, they have a Soleo Orgaics physical sunscreen (it has 22.3% Zinc Oxide which is just amazing) Buy 1 Get 1 free (I would highly recommend you to make use of this offer) or 20% off on Rustic Art products but these have been put as a part of slide show on the website which can be easily missed!!! So, that's something. 

And, another thing is they have free delivery only over Rs 1000 which I definitely feel is too high. Because, there are loads of site giving free shipping over Rs 300 - 500. And, then, they charge Rs 20 for COD which is again not really a plus point. But, they have loads of payment options right from credit cards to net banking so that relieves me but many others still prefer COD services. But, I am hoping that these charges would come down once the site grows in size and popularity.

'Organic' is a fairly new concept in India and not many people really trust it either. I couldn't get my mom to listen. She simply says this person charges you three times or more the normal cost (of a certain generic product, let's say). So, yes, organic products are definitely costly. But, since I have used them and I can safely say that they taste better too. So, my interest or excitement for this website lies more in food products than skin care.

Delivery and Packaging

I placed my order on 16th January and I received it on 20th January. Well, that's ok for me but yeah, I was very desperately wanting to get my hands on the products ASAP. So, nothing special about the packaging. It is securely wrapped and I would say it can be improved to more environment friendly. Anyways, check out what I ordered.

in case you are thinking they used only newspaper, the Tahini was securely wrapped in a bubble wrap and then covered with a newspaper and before I forget, the thing on the base of all the products with naturalmantra.com printed on it is the shopping bag of the website which I guess is complimentary for all orders and, the tea light candle was also complimentary and I love its smell already (without lighting it) and the Soloe Oranics sunscreen sachet which I am dying to try!!!

Online shopping is gaining popularity steadily as they are bringing in the brands not easily available and products we don't get to see anywhere. Whether online shopping is a fulfilling experience for a shopaholic can be a debated topic but it does provide many many advantages. And, one of the new websites on the block is violetbag.com. So, here goes my experience with the website.

Navigation

Pretty simple and easy to search products or brands coz of the huge search bar right at the top of the page. A very simple website and it is not heavy at all.

Popular Brands are listed in the fore front, products divided in various categories as tabs, list of featured products are listed as you scroll down, customer care number and email is listed on the top of the page in the violet header

So many features so simply given on the main page itself is one of the good things of the site. And, to make it more simple, you can log in with your facebook account which makes the tedious process of creating an account very simple. I simply don't like to create accounts whichever site I visit but I would definitely like it to remember my details. Yes, this one remembers your billing address.

yeah they have filters enabled for easy searching of products (look on the left side) and you can check your shopping bag any time during your shopping and even edit it without leaving the page

Brands

Ok, this is one hitch with this relatively young website. The brands are not numerous and almost all are generally available at a beauty store so I would definitely love to see new and not so easily accessible brands on it. But, then, I think they are adding new brands on their website coz I am seeing new names today since I last checked on Friday.

Well, I have to say they are super quick. You think this post is late as compared. Well, that's my fault. The order was super quick. I placed the order on Friday, they called to confirm it on Saturday (my fault again, my phone is acting weird!!!) and I got the delivery on Monday (I was expecting it on Wednesday). Ok, so all the products arrived safely and what's more, I checked the manufacturing date of all. The Biotique an Loreal products were of the latest manufacturing date but Ponds manufacturing was in March, 2010 and it expires in March, 2012. Well, the product is not widely available so may be that's the reason. I don't have any issues with that, though!!!
