Jhalak Dikhla Jaa is more interesting this time for me coz of many participants like Bharti who does give really funny one-liners (sometimes does get irritating) or Rithvik who I absolutely like!! But, the best part of the show is Madhuri Dixit who looks absolutely gorgeous in almost every episode.

This week she had come in white and blue and she was looking absolutely ethereal. I do think cream would have looked even better instead of white but I am not complaining!! How does she really manage to look so gorgeous with the most gorgeous smile and an extremely graceful body???

I got a new Sling!!

So, check out the latest sling bag I got from oasap. Its spacious and really quite impressive even though I didn't expect it to turn out so good. Yes, there is a small problem with the bag but otherwise, as per the thrift things oasap has, its quite decent.

Pros

- spacious bag

- looks really decent and would suit any western wear!!

Cons

- the handle string of the bag is not symmetrically stitched. (you can see in the pic above)

How do you choose the perfect shade? {Makeup}

Ohk, so when it comes to makeup or to speak of the simplest thing of tinted moisturizers, I am at loss with the shades. If I could, I would have written a post on "How to choose the perfect shade" (hoping someone would steal the title and give me a good post instead :-D). But, since I am total klutz at it, I would rather ask you. 

Whenever I got to buy a loose powder, I have this SA apply it on the back of my hand and if it blends, its awesome!!! But, unfortunately, they forget one thing that back of the hand is generally least tanned and way different in shade than the face. So, obviously, many times, the choice of shade goes wrong. 

Now, I also have this issue of white cast. Have you applied a tinted moisturizer and found it to give a white cast? So, what does that mean - do I have to take a darker shade or a lighter one? Well, I am sure it must have happened to you when you were an amateur as well. So, how do you really go about choosing the coveted shade?

Also, what do you do when you have an uneven skin on the face? The same shade doesn't go well everywhere, right? So, do you blend it with a moisturizer or buy two different shades and mix them? I think many do that as well but its not exactly very simple, right? So, hoping to see the tips from you :) Shoot them down!!

For those who are not aware, the shade of the foundation should be same as that of your jawline. Do check out my take on blending basics and please don't laugh if you find it really weird coz I am really not great at it :(

PS: I couldn't click the bangle I bought for mom otherwise I would have shared with you all. Btw, I didn't even talk about the birthday celebrations. It was awesome :) We went to Citywalk for dinner. There is a small bistro called Amici which specializes in wood fired Pizza and Italian food. So, we had a pasta and pizza there and it was just too awesome. So, if guys go there, don't miss it out!!!

Anyway, coming back to the wallet, how do you like it? Its so girly and cute but I do have some complaints so let's go through the pros and cons after the eye candy :)

Pros

- Absolutely girly and looks damn cute!!

Cons

- It photographs much better than it looks (not exactly a con but you get carried away when doing online shopping)

- The flap which is supposed to go on the magnet closing the wallet is a little dirty which is absolutely disheartening.
- And, finally, I do think 30$ is pretty much for a wallet, especially, when parts of it are a little dirty (even if it can be washed off)!!!

Hey guys, I wanted to share what I got from Oasap.com recently. So, check out the snaps. Btw, a word about the website, I love the things they have. They have amazing bags, belts, footwear, scarfs, everything!! And, I am not even speaking about the clothes which are just simply gorgeous except some of the things which you can't wear easily in India :)

- the bow on one of my flipflops came off!!! I would have liked it stitched instead of pasted with some quickfix or something.

- the flipflops are not exactly soft. I like soft footwear. 

- they are not flat even though they are mentioned under flats. They have an inch of heel, platform style. I like entirely flat footwear.

Disaster Strikes!!!

You know how you feel when one of the most indispensable parts of you fails??? Ok, not so serious that it goes into physical inability but its my specs. Imagine the horror I felt when I saw a crack in one of the lens!!! Its not a nice thing for a person who wears only specs, has a bad spare which gives headaches and feels like a tonne on the nose and lands you right back into the ancient ages!!! I feel like a grand mom wearing my spare.

Yeah, so, I had to run immediately to the near by specs store and hopefully, he would give back my specs by evening (post writing time - 5:45). So, that was the gloomy part of it but every cloud has a silver lining, right??? I get to buy a new frame, yay!!! Of course, when you are pinching and saving, your money goes down into some expense which is completely unavoidable. 

So, the summary of the story - get new specs, don't pinch and scrape, spend!!! And, sorry for no beauty post. I am not feeling inspired. Hopefully, should feel by tomorrow :D Btw, do you have something so indispensable in your life???

Update: I got my specs back in perfect form :D And, I got my first google adsense check. And, my blog's page views crossed 150,000 last month. And, I am just 6 to 500 fb fans!!! I know the stats aren't much to boast about but I am proud of them. So, I wanted to announce that a small giveaway is in the offing when fb fans turn 500. How to choose right pair of glasses for your face?

So, you wear glasses??? I have been wearing them since around 18 years!!! Wow...sounds like a huge time and I do have a high power also. So, you can say that I have tried on a lot of spectacles from the big rounded ones which used to come in the 90's to the trendier ones which are coming now. 

A frame can make your look or make you look dowdy as well. So, always be careful when you choose your frame and make sure you take someone with you whose taste you well approve of or better, who has a better taste than you :D So, let me share some pointers in choosing the right frame. Ok, before starting, I want to say that since I have round face, I shall be referring to it in the post.

Your face shape

Of course, the most important. You want your glasses to flatter your face shape. Since, we are only talking of round face here, we will take that into consideration. But, I am sure that the pointers I am going to discuss will apply to all shapes. 

Always choose contrasting shape of glasses as compared to your face shape. That give an illusion of different face shape. 

For round face, a square or rectangular with sharp edges instead of blunt edges works really well.

Size of your face or features

The size of your frame should be consistent with the size of your face or your face will look very huge and fat. Also, the size should be consistent with the eye size. If you have small eyes, get a small frame where as for big eyes, make sure, the frame suits well.

Facial Features

A round face has more rounded features and very few angles or sharpness. So, you want to get a frame which gives an illusion of sharpness to the face. 

Make your features stand out. Get the frame which contrasts with the sharpness or roundedness of features on your face.

Similarly, you want your glasses to contrast with the face length. In a round face, the face is too full, using round frames would make it look even fuller and fat. Where as, getting sharp-edged rectangular or square frames or asymmetrical frames also look good as they highlight the facial features.

Proportions of the frame

You want to check out the width and depth of the frame as well. Proper proportions will highlight the face. 

For round face, a more wider frame with lesser depth is better. A complete square is a big no-no. Similarly, you don't want the arms of the glasses to be thin. Thicker arms draw attention to the upper part of the face. 

Summary of the post

So, before you are choosing your pair of glasses, check out the following:

• your face shape
• your features are rounded or sharp
• length of your face and the width
• length and width of the frame
