Clean and Clear Fairness Cream {Product Review}

Clean and Clear Fairness Cream at Perfect Skin Care for you
Price: Rs 120 for 40gms

Pros
controls oil admirably for entire day
leaves skin brighter and matte
gets absorbed really easily

Cons
doesn't suit dry skin at all so stay away!!

My Experience
The product is light pink in color and very thin in consistency and not at all heavy!! I would say this is a perfect cream for oily skin. Why? Because, it doesn't let my skin get oily and yes, my skin feels a little stretched coz its actually dry combination and these days, my skin is not that oily. Had it been summers, it would have suited me perfectly.

Clean and Clear Fairness Cream at Perfect Skin Care for you

No, its not suitable for dry skin at all. Or, even if you spend a lot of time on AC, I would not suggest this for you. Regarding the fairness claims, I didn't really find it do anything to my skin. But, yes, it probably did make my skin glow but I can't be really sure. But, I did notice that my skin turns a little ashy when I apply more than two pea-size drops of products for my face and neck, one for each.

It does stand true to the claims of oil free so yes, when combined with its counter part face wash, its a perfect recipe to combat oily skin. It would have been great if the products had been launched during summers - quite a respite for oily skin types :) Regarding its sunscreen and UV filter claims, I prefer to use a separate sunscreen.

Apply moisturizer on damp skin {Tip of the Day}

I have mentioned this countless of times and probably done dedicated posts for this as well but I wanted to reiterate this tip again today. So, for those of you who already know about it and have tried, apologies for saying the same things again and again.

Whenever you face a difficulty to spread any product on your skin, try applying it on damp skin. It works beautifully and gives an even finish with a dewy look. This worked especially great for the Ponds White Beauty Spot-less Cream which I had reviewed recently. I totally forgot to mention about it in the post so thought I would put up a separate one!!! Also, keep one thing in mind that do not apply any sunscreen on damp skin.

Ponds White Beauty Daily Spot-less Lightening Cream SPF 20 PA++ {Product Review}

Before starting the review, I want to reiterate that I do not support fairness products. I have reviewed this solely out of my curiosity and I wanted to see how much of the hi-flying claims it supports.

Price: Rs 249 for 50gms

Ingredients
Ok, so, it has a long one and I did click it but it wasn't very clear so I am gonna skip this. And, yes, it has lots of chemicals. Btw, it has Niacinamide which is Vitamin B3 and it also has parabens in case you are interested.

Pros
- cute packaging
- evens out the skin tone

Cons
- makes me sweat a lot sometimes
- sticks to one place on my skin and refuses to spread smoothly
- doesn't fulfil any claims of fairness (it claims to make your skin fair genetically)
- can't use it as a sunscreen (this is not exactly a con)
- less on moisturizing

My Experience
So, this is my second fairness product. I remember long time back, I had tried out the Fair n Lovely sachet which used to come with magazines. I had tried it just once but I remember the texture of the cream which was a little powdery and felt dry. This Ponds one has the same texture.

I like the packaging, though. But, taking enough amount of the product is a challenge when it is a tub packaging. I really wish they come with pump packing so that one pump or two are enough for one use. Take too much and the product clumps on the skin. The cream is a little thick and creamy and doesn't spread easily at all.

In fact, blending was a huge headache for me in the starting but then, I used my regular method of applying moisturizer and it worked really well. But, even then, I have to make sure that I have just enough of the product to cover my face otherwise it does end up giving a white cast and a patchy look. And, after applying the product, you can see some of the product clumped up in the lines of your palms which is extremely annoying.

Ok, to speak good of the product, it evens out my skin beautifully and gives a very pinkish look to my face. The skin looks brightened and a little glowy. However, I did not see any fairness or any skin lightening in the long run. I don't think it works on removing the tanning but I am not really sure of that.  It is suited for skin prone to more oiliness as it gives a mattifying look.

Ok, I do not really rely on my moisturizers to give me sun protection (I do not advise it either) so the product having spf is redundant for me. However, I have seen that the glow does stay till the evening on some days. But, this moisturizer is not enough if you have dry skin. It tends to make my skin dry even in summers (my skin is combination towards dry).

But, I did sweat more with this product at times which was a shame. So, if you are looking for fairness, I would not recommend this. But, if you are looking for a product which evens out your skin temporarily, yes, you should definitely go for this.

Fun Fact: I asked my dad to use this and his face was also a little brighter and even after applying this product. But, even he faced issues while blending it :D

Pros
- gets absorbed very quickly
- leaves the skin dewy and radiant

Cons
- not moisturizing for dry skin
- can make you sweat more

My Experience
the left is the Cascade Lotion
The product is very thin and gets absorbed into the skin pretty easily. And, I really like that it makes my skin look hydrated and moisturized without getting heavy. But, the main issue with this product is that it makes me sweat a lot if I am not in AC or in front of the cooler. I have used the product on my entire body and liked the way it kept my skin moisturized for 6 hours straight.

The packaging is also very handy and travel-friendly. It comes with a pump. Only two pumps are required to cover my face and neck. Ok, this is a good product for normal to oily and combi skin but not suitable for dry skin. So, even if you have a combi dry skin, its not the product for you. I did face dryness sometimes.  Overall, its a good product to try out and see if it suits you.

Also, I would like to point out that last time when I had reviewed the Silksplash face wash, I had complained about the secretive cleansing base, the PR guys from Just Herbs had reverted back immediately and furnished me with the entire ingredient list for this product. They also said that their packaging and ingredient listing policies are going to change soon in the near future. So, I am looking forward to the revelations :)

How much moisturizer do you use? {Skin Care}

Did you know that you just need a pea size amount of moisturiser for your face??? I am in the league of people who always end up using more than enough of the product, be it any, howsoever much I may try. So, I decided that I would educate you all on this very important issue as it saves our bucks and our skin as well :) Excess of product is really not good for skin as it sits on the skin and ends up clogging the pores.

Just a pea drop!!
I have come to love the pump packaging more than any other as they deliver right amount of pea size we need for covering the face and another for the neck. I always take only a pump and rub my hands and simply press it on to my face starting with cheeks and going all over the face including forehead, nose, chin and skin between lips and nose and of course, the eye area.

How to apply the moisturiser?
Rubbing the palms melts the moisturiser a bit and makes it more runny and pressing the palms gently on the face allows the moisturiser to get absorbed into the skin quickly without leaving any residue on the palms. Try this out today and you will love this method. The best part of this is that you don't need to move the skin on the face and the under-eye area and that, of course, prevents any unwanted wrinkles!!

I always start out with the cheek area and then, go on to forehead, chin and then nose and at last, the skin around the eyes. I saw this method on Paris's blog and have been following it since quite long and I am loving it. This method is great for even the moisturisers which come in tub but generally, we do end up scooping out more than needed.

Vedic Line Fig & Honey Moisturizer {Product Review}

PS: I noticed my post had gone to spam folder yesterday so if you are missing my posts, don't forget to check the spam folder or add the e-mail address "perfectskincareforyou@gmail.com" to your contacts :)

Price: Rs 220 for 200ml

Ingredients

Pros

  • light moisturizer, perfect for oily skin
  • smells really good
Cons

  • not meant for dry skin
My Experience
The first reaction to this product was that it smells soooooo good!!! Seriously. Not lingering but just a first whiff and some notes. Anyways, it is creamy in color but not so creamy in consistency. It is not a thick cream and spreads easily on the face. The one thing which I missed in it was moisturization. It is not a product for dry skin but it is perfect for combination and oily skin, especially, since summers have already arrived in Hyderabad.
It is a light moisturizer and doesn't make the skin look oily at all. It gives a light dewy look to the face. And, you don't really need a lot of it, either, so 200ml is gonna last pretty long. And, I really like the packaging of this product. It comes with a pump so its hygienic and since it's a see-through, you know how much of it has gone.

Clean&Clear Skin-Balancing Moisturizer {Product Review}

This review is written by Isheeta.
Price: Rs 50 for 50ml

My Experience
the texture is very light and a very little product is needed for one time
It has been long since I had been literally wanting to use the Clean&Clear Skin Balancing Oil-Free moisturizer. My past experiences with this range hasn't been great but this one definitely caught my eye as hydration for my skin was one of my major concerns and I believe one of the root causes for most of my facial issues. So after the last dollop of my Lotus creme got done with, I went ahead and bought the smaller version of this moisturizer [small but ample for a long time]. Cleansed and scrubbed as I normally do and then got to massaging in with this moisturizer - Cautiously at first but with ease progressively. And Behold! True to its word, Oil-Free 'twas! No greasy feel, soaked to the pores, soft to touch skin. That was the first day. Come evening, I tried it on again. And the next day. My skin felt deliciously hydrated, smoother, softer, nourished, and no, the face does not get oily as the hours tick. A week later I noticed a healthier skin and felt no dry patches that were before using this product. It also does not have any fragrance that sometimes irritates the nose.

My Recommendation
A must go-for!! It's an absolute must-have. Also makes up for a rich eye cream in emergency or for first-time users.

Moisturex Emollient, Humectant and Keratolytic Cream {Product Review}

Ok, so this is something new for most of you, if not all. I wanted to talk about the cream which my mom has been using faithfully since the past 15 years and which keeps her skin fabulous. And, I have been using this cream for the past 15-20 days and I thought it would be good to share this product with you all as it is a perfect moisturizer for winters.

Price: Rs 200 for 75gms (I am guessing but it should be around that)

Ingredients

My Experience
Moisturex is recommended for the above skin problems
It is a medicated cream and had been recommended by a doctor to my mom (don't remember for what reason but my stuck to it coz it suited her). Now, a little bit about the cream. It is a thin consistency cream but its very very moisturizing so I would recommend it only for dry skin and mature skin and those who live in colder climates. It makes the skin oily when in humid or tropical climate. So, I am using it now a days to combat the weather and protect my skin.

And, this cream is awesome. It keeps my skin moisturized the entire day and keeps it looking supple and hydrated. This is something which I have never seen any other moisturizer do. To some extent, I'll give Liz Earle moisturizer a benefit of doubt but otherwise, it is great!!! And, not very expensive either. And, it lasts ages, trust me!!! Since its so creamy, you need to apply a very very thin layer and I apply it in dots and rub it into the skin. If applied properly, it also makes the skin appear a little dewy and it doesn't let the skin dry out at all so if you are suffering from broken skin or extremely dry patches, this is a cream which you should give a try.

Regarding my mom's skin, her skin still looks flawless and its supple and so soft, seriously coz this cream makes the skin extremely soft. I think the credit of that goes to the ingredients - lactic acid and urea, both of which are supposed to be great for skin. So, give it a try :)

My Recommendation
I would definitely ask you to give it a try. Would be especially great for mature skin.
