Lakme Perfect Radiance Intense Whitening Capsules Treatment {Product Review}

Lakme Perfect Radiance Intense Whitening Capsules Treatment at Perfect Skin Care for you
This is my first ever try of Lakme’s skin care range. I have always loved their makeup products but this time I am madly in love with these capsules from their skin care range.

Price: 1250 for 28 capsules (very expensive, I must say!!)

My Experience
Lakme Perfect Radiance Intense Whitening Capsules Treatment at Perfect Skin Care for you
These capsules contain pale yellow serum which is very light in texture. When I apply it on my skin, it feels so soft!! Its absolutely non greasy and gets absorbed instantly into the skin. My skin is oily and I am, generally, afraid of creams and serums but this one rocks for my skin as it provides perfect moisture to my skin without making it oily. And, the best part is it never broke me out!!

Though the product says "twist the capsule to open it", I prefer scissors. The quantity of each capsule is 0.33gms and its enough for the entire face (I am wondering what about neck?? they could have given a bit more for the neck!!). Currently, I am on my second purchase and I am totally loving it. I can see wonderful glow on my face. (Thanks to my sister who forced me to use it and see the magic).

My uneven skin tone is more even and clearer. And the best part is my dark spots and post-pimple marks are lightened to some extent. It also keeps oil at bay for at leats 7-8 hours (when used at night). I don’t know why they called it a whitening treatment. It’s a great brightening treatment. I am absolutely in love with this serum though it’s little expensive for 28 capsules but its worth it.

Now, my friends are asking me what have I done on my face :D Lakme’s claim of freedom from 6 fairness blocks - dark spots, acne marks, uneven skin tone, oiliness, tanning and dullness is true. I think I have 5 of these problems and the product helped me reduce all of them. I am not tanned (you are so lucky!!). For me, it worked really great so I am going to buy it again.

Editor's Note: I was attracted to the product right form the start and now, your review is literally making me run to the shop and get one for myself but damn the expense!!! :(

Fun in SA with Kyra

Me (on phone) : Hey Kyra, great news!!! The trip is on.
Kyra (replies back) : Great!!! Let's go shopping. Make a list of essentials and you know what tops the list, right??? Let's meet at 2.
Me : Seriously??? Not again!! It will be blazing hot.
Kyra : Oh come on, its not as if you are afraid of getting sun-burnt, are you?? Don't forget the protection, obviously.
Me : Yeah, but remember, no outdoors between 10 and 4??
Kyra : Yes, I know but are you gonna sit indoors in SA as well?? And, come on, its shopping for the trip!!

This was my conversation with my friend Kyra. We both are going off for a vacation this summer in the beautiful city of Johannesburg and are also covering Capetown. But, primarily we shall be spending our time at Suncity, the beautiful resort just two hours away from Johannesburg. The trip got confirmed yesterday when our parents said yes and passports and visa processing was started. So, now, we girls are gonna meet at 2 o' clock to shop for everything!!

Yes, Kyra loves sun and I don't. It gives me headaches. And, now, again I have to slap up a good amount of sunscreen to protect my skin. Gosh!! what life? So, talking about the shopping, we both are obsessed with something called 'sunscreen'. And, since this is South Africa we are talking about with its temperatures from 23 to 30 degrees, we definitely don't want to be sunburnt or miss out the fun on outdoor activities. So, miss anything or not, this is definitely gonna be there in our backpacks.

Me : Hey, so what all are we hoarding on?
Kyra : Not decided on the clothes but some scarfs and stoles and wide-brimmed hats and my favorite Lakme Sun Expert SPF 50...
Me : Not again!!

Lakme should seriously consider hiring Kyra as their brand ambassador, especially for their sun safe range. The way she goes on and on about their sunscreens is just too irritating. No, I don't use Lakme and never have till date, in fact. Oh no, we do have a lot of arguments on my and her choice of sunscreen and several times she has tried converting me to hers!! Well, don't think she has stopped trying coz that's not Kyra!!

Me (in the shop) : I am gonna wear jeans so I don't really need to get any thing. Lets look at some tees.
Kyra : Are you serious? What happened to the skirts and capris???
Me : Nah!! Then, I will have to apply the sunscreen on my legs too. Can't handle that much.
Kyra : I know very well why you don't like it. You don't like the heavy feel, right? Use mine and you won't even feel like you have applied the sunscreen. Lakme is light and doesn't really feel like you have applied anything.
Me : Can you please spare the lec, all time!! I don't wanna use it.
Kyra : Fine! (and *winks*)

And, I know something is going about her brain. After we finish the shopping, I know the what the *wink* was for. She bought two sunscreens.

Me : Why you getting two sunscreens? You bought one just two weeks back!!
Kyra : Huh...yes. I am going on a vacation. What do you think, I might get finished with one half way through our vacation!! And what then? Use your yucky sunscreen?
Me : Really?? I very well think I might be forced into using yours!!
Kyra : Yeah, right!! As if you listen to me.

But, I am pretty sure she is upto something. SA, save me from Kyra *pray*.

Lakme Fruit Blast Berrylicious Fruit Revitalizing Scrub Mask {Product Review}

I was very much intrigued by the pink color of the mask and bought it. Its really one of a kind!!!

Price: Rs 150 for 50gms

Ingredients

Packaging
Nothing amazing but the deep pink of the pack will definitely attract your eyes as it is quite unusual.

My Experience
The mask has to be applied on a wet skin and left to dry for 15 minutes and then, scrubbed and washed off. Applying the mask is easy as it spread smoothly on the wet skin but sometimes, it can get clogged at certain places. Not much of a problem though. And, you do feel nice thinking about a pink mask on your face. I was in love with the pink color of the mask (though, I am not much fan of pink as a general rule). Since the product has Bentonite and Kaolin (clays), it wouldn't probably suit the dry skin though the product says nothing about the skin types. And, I would say, I expected too much out of the product.
But, sadly, this mask does nothing to the skin. It looks like a toothpaste as you can see in the pic above and has a waxy feel to it. The scrub beads are wax beads as indicated by the ingredients list and they are less in concentration and sharp enough. And, it gives a very unpleasant feel of the product. I think jojoba beads would have been better here. It left my skin just as it was before. Not even an extra radiance and no difference in the softness. The only thing which I found was that this product gives a feel-good factor which goes away after first few uses. My only regret is that I wish it had done some good to my skin.

My Recommendation
I think finding this product is a little difficult and I don't have any idea if it is still in the market. But, I wouldn't really recommend it to anyone. I think it is a little expensive too.

      Lakme Perfect Radiance Fairness Facewash {Product Review}

This is one of my few products from Lakme. I am not much fan of it but then who can resist interesting colors and new products. So, the color of the packaging is really nice.

Price: 80 INR for 50 gms

      Ingredients

      My Experience
This is a normal face wash. Foams a lot so a tiny bit is enough. I have a combination skin and this one doesn't really dry the skin nor does it make it oily but the oil returns within an hour of washing the face so not much help there. Regarding the fairness claim, I would say that it instantly brightens the face and the brightening effect doesn't really go away so if you regularly use it, you might find the face is little brightened. But, as to the fairness claim, it doesn't really lighten the skin tone in case you are wondering. And, it doesn't even remove tanning which is even worse. So, it is a normal face wash which can be used without much expectations and it is costlier than the other brands like Ponds and Himalaya so one can give it a skip too.

One positive thing about this face wash is that it doesn't have SLS / SLES which is a good thing but it really foams a lot so if you are looking for a less foamy face wash, this wouldn't be of much help. Btw, another great thing is that it doesn't leave any film on the skin like some cleansers and face washes. And, I have stayed without applying moisturizer in a humid place for almost two weeks without applying any moisturizer and my face didn't really feel dry or stretchy.

A very big disadvantage is that it is not travel-friendly. No, I am not talking about the size but the face wash leaks!!! Yeah, I did realize it when I saw that the face wash was coming on to the cap and some of it was oozing outside and then I had to keep it in a plastic cover to save my other things but that's a very big disadvantage for people who travel constantly. Well, this might be just my face wash problem or this might apply to the entire packaging which I am not too sure.

      My Recommendation
You are not missing out something if you pass on this one.

      Lakme Vital Indulgence: Review

      [Source: biotinhairgrowthresults.com]
I recently received a booklet of Lakme coupons for free and the coupons gave good bargain prices. So, I went to Lakme Salon a few weeks back to make use of the coupons. Vital Indulgence had struck me particularly so I opted for the service. I thought it must be a luxurious kind of a facial but instead it turned out to be a hair loss treatment. I, nevertheless, decided to go with the service as I have thin hair.
The treatment started with a hair wash using a hair fall control shampoo from Schwarzkopf, a German company. Then, the lady attending me blow dried my hair and gave me a high frequency scalp treatment. A high frequency (violet rays) current was powered with the help of a vacuum (pipet look-alike) tube. The power of the current was adjusted according to the body tolerance and the tube was moved along whole of my scalp for 5 -7 minutes. This high frequency treatment is believed to kill the bacteria on the scalp. The scalp infections or bacterial growth on the scalp is one of the main causes for hair loss and thin hair. The bacteria inhibit the healthy growth of your hair. The high frequency current also stimulates your hair follicles and helps in detoxification process of the follicles.

After that a hair growth serum, again from Schwarzkopf, was applied thoroughly on my scalp directly from the nozzle by partitioning my hair in different sections. This took around 10 - 15 minutes on me. And, I got a good massage starting from my scalp to the end of my back for around 15 - 20 minutes. It was pure heaven. After the massage, I was given an infrared radiation therapy for 5 minutes. The infrared light heats up the scalp and is able to penetrate to two inches in our body. This gives a deep conditioning treatment to the hair to ensure the complete absorption of the hair growth serum. And, finally, my hair was nicely styled.

And, if you are thinking about the potential effects of the high frequency current or infrared radiation therapies on the body, I can assure you that they are most commonly used therapies to eradicate scalp infections and promote hair growth. They do not possess any dangers to the human body. Infrared radiation, unlike the ultra-violet radiation, is used in the daily lives in forms of thermal radiation and is not cancerous. So, the Vital Indulgence treatment is perfectly safe and I can venture to say useful for people suffering from severe hair loss. I have taken only one sitting till now. And, it costs 800 Indian Rupees. The results may be visible after a certain number of sittings depending on the quality and condition of the hair.
