Homemade Coffee Hand Scrub

Well, today, I would like to share a scrub which I made for my hands. I do not have much time to spare for manicure and pedicure. So, I thought I can at least make a hand scrub which will keep my hands beautiful and soft. Its nothing complicated. Just drop your favorite scrub into your hand wash.

What I did?
I had 2-3 small hand wash liquid tubes which I got as complimentary in a hotel. So, I did not know how to use them. I also ran out of my hand wash liquid. So, I emptied the tubes into hand wash bottle and mixed it with water to keep the soapy consistency but increase the volume. Then, I mixed it with a little of vitamin E oil and some coffee powder. And, my hand scrub is ready. It keeps my skin soft and smooth. The scrub works wonders on your skin. You can feel the difference in just a day. You can use it after every household activity you perform like laundry, cleaning utensils, cleaning your house, et cetera. The oil would not let your hands dry up and the coffee granules would keep on renewing your skin by exfoliating it. If you do not like to exfoliate your skin so often, you can use this scrub once in 2 or 3 days. That should do the job and you would see no need for manicure.
But, if you use a bottle with pump action to squeeze the soap, refrain from storing the scrub in such a bottle as the coffee will get stuck in the pipe. Use a normal pour from bottle to store the scrub.

Stop cracking your Knuckles

Well, I thought it would be a good idea to do a series of posts on habits which are unconsciously done but they effect out body and skin or even hair in harmful ways.

Habit: The first which comes to my mind is cracking the knuckles. Well, it is true and I have this very terrible habit. I have tried to stop so many times but I do it unconsciously whenever I'm nervous or brooding.

Result: The result is an extremely wrinkled hand which looks at least 10 years older to your present age.

Remedy: If you are already suffering from the wrinkled hands, a very good option is to massage your hands with coconut or almond oil at night for five minutes regularly. And, keep your hand moisturized all day long with use of either the hand creams or body lotions or my personal favorite, body oils. And, of course, avoid the habit.

How to get rid of this habit?
I am pretty sure it is in heads of many of you but this is something which I would not be able to answer because I have been trying to get rid of this habit since quite some years but I have not yet succeeded. Even one of my friends has asked me in the comments about how to get rid of this habit. I wish I could help but the only thing I have succeeded in is to be attentive to what I am doing and if I find myself cracking my knuckles, I try to turn my attention to some other work I have. I would definitely appreciate if anyone can suggest some way to get rid of this habit.

Your hands tell your age

You might have noticed that your hands would seem to need more care than your face. Though, we often forget to do that. If you do not take proper care of your hands, they can make you look older than you actually are. This is because our hands are the most exposed and abused parts of the body. So, taking a regular and proper care should assure youthful hands. Have you ever seen beautiful hands? They look beautiful because they do not have varicose veins showing. Instead, they are as fleshy as any other part of the body and no wrinkles at all. Perform this activity after a long day just before sleep.

How to do a manicure?
  • Wash your hands properly. Remove any rings or bangles or bracelets you wear.
  • Dip your hands for 5 minutes in hot water (as hot as you can bear) to soften the skin and open the pores.
  • Use a body scrub to cleanse the hands gently.
  • Wash thoroughly by dipping in hot water again.
  • Make a hand pack from raw honey and ripe banana. Blend them into a smooth mixture. Banana moisturizes your hand in the best way. Hands tend to be drier than other parts of the body. Apply a thick layer of this pack on the back of your hands. You may cover it with any plastic gloves you have or leave them as it is for 15-20 minutes.
  • After the stipulated time, dip your hands in a bowl of milk or oats water on a table.
  • Remove the mask in the bowl only by gentle rubbing. Let your hand be dipped for 10 more minutes for extra smoothness.
  • Wash your hands in cold water finally.
  • Now, apply your favorite oil on your hands. Almond oil is the best choice as it is high in vitamin E. Massage your hands and wear gloves if you can sleep with them on. In the morning, your hands would be soft like never before.
  • You might want to take care of your nails too during this process.
Regular care would ensure your hands will never give away your age.
