Get plumper-looking lips without the trout mouth
The magic of lip liner: Using a lip liner is the easiest way to go from average lips to amazing lips! The key is to choose a nude shade closest to your natural mouth color. Slowly trace the pencil ever so slightly outside of your natural lip line. Next, using a lip brush or just applying straight from the tube, put on a rose colored or nude lipstick. With your ring finger, slightly blend the two products together. To finish off the lip, apply a dab of gloss or lighter lipstick onto the center of your lips. There are a lot of good quality drugstore products out there that can recreate this look. Revlon’s Nude Lip Liner in combination with Revlon’s Soft Rose lipstick looks really beautiful!
Highlighting and contouring: This method will make your lower lip look so big it creates a shadow, and the highlighting will make your upper lip appear plumper. After applying a lip gloss or lipstick as you normally would (do not over line your mouth this time), use your ring finger to dab a small amount of a subtle highlight right on your cupid’s bow. It’s your choice of which product to use to do this: shimmering eye shadows, cream highlighters and shimmery facial powders will all do the job. Next, take a small eye shadow brush (a crease brush will work well) and lightly tap it into a matte bronzer. Using a very light hand, gently dust the bronzer right under your bottom lip.
Use a plumping primer: Not only will a primer keep your lipstick on for longer, but certain primers can create a sexy, bee-stung look. DuWop Prime Venom is a great lip plumping primer that only hurts a little bit, and is supposedly a favorite of Hollywood starlets.
DIY lip plumper: Mix a teaspoon of olive oil with a bit of salt and apply to your lips. Leave it on for a few minutes before wiping it away to reveal fuller, slightly swollen lips, naturally. Warning: you might be tempted to lick the salty olive oil mix off your lips!
